Last Puffin tour of 2018

It was a great year for the Puffins here around Reykjavik. This year Puffins arrived really early in April and good numbers. We haven't seen much Mackerel(problem for the Puffins because they compete for the same food) in the our shores for most of the summer and we saw a lot of Puffins bringing Sandeels and Caplin to the pufflings in the nest.

Late in the season we been spot several pufflings swimming out there in our whale watching tours. Among the Puffins we have seen Black-Guillemots, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Fulmars, Arctic Terns and Eider ducks in quantities and in almost all of our tours.

Hope next year it will be as good as 2018.

See you next year!

Come along and meet Mr. & Ms. Puffin!
