Seal of Approval
Rough seas out in Faxaflói but conditions remained calm around the islands that the puffins frequent. Apart from the characteristically clumsy antics of the puffins, our guests were treated to a surprise visit from two grey seals. As we slowly sailed around Lundey, a large adult male popped up and gave all onboard a long stare before stealthily moving on. Another seal then surfaced nearby and was very easy to watch. Puffins were most active around Akurey but here, these little birds had to run a gauntlet of skuas and gulls before reaching the safety of their burrows.
