Perfect puffin experience!
Another windy day greeted the staff of Whale Safari today as we went puffin watching on Lundey and Engey.
Lundey was particularly busy with puffins flying back and forth from Faxafloi and gathering on the water in front of the boat. The waves were quite small despite the wind coming from the south west.
Many dramas played out in front of the boat as the adult atlantic puffins were targeted by the neighbouring kittiwakes for their catch of fish they were bringing back to the burrow in their beaks. The puffins responded by diving under the water and coming up elsewhere before flying to their burrows to deliver their fish to their puffling chicks.
